First Appointment Detailed Upper Cervical Chiropractic Assessment
A new patient workup includes a consultation, detailed history, exam, postural evaluation, infrared thermography upper cervical scan and a Cone Beam CT Scan.
Dr. Dutson will perform a computer-assisted analysis of the CT scan to determine if there is an upper cervical misalignment before you return for your next visit. Your scans will also be sent to a radiologist for additional review and that report will be available to discuss at your next visit.
Cone Beam CT Scanner (CBCT)
We use the latest 3D CT imaging and a computerized analysis to help us detect and precisely measure a spinal misalignment. This allows us to develop your individualized prescription for an upper cervical correction.
Please note: No spinal correction will be made on the first visit. The goal of this visit is to collect all the information that Dr. Dutson needs to determine the best approach for care. Therefore, after your first office visit we will schedule a convenient and timely follow-up appointment for you.
Second Appointment Doctor's Report of Findings
After your first appointment, we will analyze the data we collected during your initial exam. When you return to the office, Dr. Dutson will review your CBCT imaging, radiology report and exam findings with you. He will answer any questions and concerns you may have as he informs and educates you about the findings. If a misalignment has been confirmed, Dr. Dutson will discuss next steps and move forward with your spinal adjustment.
Initial Spinal Adjustment
You will receive your first gentle and precise, laser-guided adjustment. This does not involve any twisting, cracking, or popping of the neck. Immediately afterward you will rest in an anti-gravity position to give your nervous system time to begin responding to the adjustment. Then we will recheck your positive neuro indicators to evaluate your body’s initial response to the adjustment.
Assessment & Plan of Action
We put the Cone Beam CT images and the computerized analysis up on the big screen and we discuss the findings together. All questions will be answered before moving forward with care. If indicated, we perform the first upper cervical adjustment on this visit utilizing a laser guided instrument. There is no twisting or cracking of the neck. The adjustment is followed by resting in a zero gravity chair to take the weight off the head and neck and allow the initial correction time to stabilize. treatment.
We discuss a treatment plan specific to your unique situation that will give you the best chance to achieve optimal results from your upper cervical care. As you progress in your recovery, Dr. Dutson will make modifications as needed in your treatment plan to align with your body’s response to upper
cervical care.

Life Changing!! My story begins 28 Feb 2016. I was hit by a drunk driver going 110 MPH. My truck rolled 6 times. Over the next 3 years I spent 8 weeks in a neck brace, 16 MRI's, 4 CT scans, 3 different physical therapists, 2 Neurosurgeons, and 2 chiropractors. I was told to live with limited movement and numbness in my right arm as the final diagnosis. Every day was a struggle. I began a routine to live life uncomfortably, then a miracle happened. My father took me to see Dr. Greg Dutson. He thoroughly examined me with the best equipment money could buy. Very impressive. He explained that my atlas was off center. Next he adjusted the atlas with a very precise apparatus that was very gentle. Once the atlas moved, I felt a rush of fluid to my brain. At first I thought this must be adrenaline because all my issues went away, my eye sight was clearer, and my posture was straight as an arrow. The cost of the initial appointment kept me from trying this place for way too long. If this sounds familiar then listen up... THE PRICE IS WORTH IT! Accurately finding the root of the problem before any treatment plan created is what separates this place from other Chiropractors. Everyone is super friendly. My mom has found life changing pain relief here. Adjustments are very precise and gentle. All treatments are based on regular tests, measurements, and imagery, so when they make an adjustment, you can rest assured they won't make your problem worse on accident. Something I have experienced at other Chiro offices. No snake oil from this office either. My pain was not strongly related to the spine, and they were very honest about that. No unnecessary treatments for profit. Nice to see a medical practice that does not place profits above its patient's wellbeing.
I saw Dr. Dutson for the first time about a year ago and so very grateful I did! Dr. Dutson is one of the best doctors I have ever been to! Dr. Dutson listens, is professional, trustworthy, kind, precise, thorough, patient, explains everything beforehand, answers all questions, and is very respectful. He is an EXPERT in this field. He truly cares about his patients and helping to improve their health. I had a previous head/neck injury over 10 years ago that has caused pain/numbness and was then exacerbated by poor dental work. I had one adjustment done by Dr. Dutson about a year ago. He recommended this adjustment based off of very specialized x-rays and testing as proof that an adjustment could benefit.
