Ever wondered WHY two people can be living in the same house or working in the same office and one gets sick and the other doesn’t? Why can you have a classroom full of kids and some seem to catch every cold or flu bug going through town while others in the same classroom never seem to get sick? Obviously, they were all exposed to the same environment, the same germs and breathing the same air. Why then do some people get sick and yet their family member, co-worker or classmate doesn’t?
The primary determining factor whether you get sick or not is the strength of your immune system. We all know that. However, what most people don’t know is that their nervous system controls and regulates their immune system. When your nervous system is functioning optimally, you have a much greater opportunity to fight off an infection or disease. So what can you do to reduce your risk of catching the next cold, flu or other serious diseases? Remember, in addition to eating right, exercising, managing our stress and getting quality sleep, we should also include getting our nervous system checked periodically and tune-up when indicated.
